Hi, we're the
Blue Peacock Acupuncture team.
We can't wait to
meet you.
A Few Things About Erin,
Licensed Acupuncturist, AEMP
I was graduated from Bastyr University in 2007 with the degree of Master of Science in Acupuncture. While in school, I completed clinical rotations at Harborview Hospital, Caroline Downs Family Medical Center, Highpoint Medical Clinic, and Bastyr Center for Natural Health.
I am committed to ongoing continuing education in Traditional Chinese Medicine to enhance my knowledge and remain up to date with new and emerging information. I prefer to focus studies on acupuncture neurology and am fascinated by the effects of acupuncture on the nervous system. The body's capacity to heal itself is truly phenomenal!
Outside of my love for East Asian Medicine, I have a deep passion for travel, especially to wildlife destinations and I am an animal lover to my core. I have volunteered for the farm sanctuaries of Pasado’s Safe Haven and Heartwood Haven, I have fostered four wonderful dogs through Ginger's Death Row Dogs, and I'm currently volunteering as a guide for Wolf Haven International, a sanctuary for captive wolves and wolfdogs.

A Few Things About Kara,
Licensed Acupuncturist, DACM
As an acupuncturist, I do my best to bridge the gap between Eastern and Western health practices to provide a well-rounded, integrative approach to patient care. I tend to nerd out about compensation patterns and physical imbalances in the body, which are often created when we experience pain, or can themselves cause pain. I am passionate about providing culturally competent, evidence-based care and empowering my patients through offering knowledge and tools that can be incorporated at home to accelerate healing.
By combining Traditional Chinese Medicine, specialized training in Sports Medicine Acupuncture, and a clear understanding of modern medical approaches, I strive to provide a healing experience that supports the mind, body, and spirit of each individual.
While earning my Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, I completed clinical rotations at Fora Health Detox and Recovery Center, the Legacy Pain Management Center, and OCOM clinics in Portland, Oregon. Following graduation in 2022, I travelled to rural Nepal where I spent several months delivering essential care and health monitoring to underserved communities as an acupuncturist. I truly cherish that experience and all the people I met along the way. I relocated to this area in 2024 and now to Blue Peacock Acupuncture from southern Washington where I was part of a thriving group practice that supported me in building a strong foundation of patient-centered care.
I am committed to a life full of learning and finding the joy in everyday moments. I am an outdoor enthusiast and animal lover. In my free time you will find me in the Olympic Mountains with my Bernese Mountain Dog, cuddled up reading with my two cats, or finishing the build of our first house with my partner. I look forward to meeting you and seeing how I can help.
A Few Things About Valarie,
Office Assistant/Front Desk
I graduated from Northwest University in 2022 with a Bachelor's in Communication Studies. In my three years at Northwest, I worked consistently to help plan and bring to life events for my community. I learned about my love for service centered work and the joy of helping others form connections and make memories!
Since graduating, I have picked up new hobbies such as going to see live music and spending more time in nature, whether that be a long hike or a quick walk to the beach. I've also gotten back to some old hobbies as well, such as watercolor, sculpting, and crocheting.
I have always been a creative person and I love to explore and find new ways to express that in my every day life.
A Few Things About Lyra "lie-rah",
Therapy Dog
Lyra's "gotcha" date is December 22, 2021. She was found as a stray dog in Tijuana from Casa Dog rescue at 4 years old. We may not know what her first 4 years were like, but we do know that she is now a cherished family member to Erin and a natural therapy dog at Blue Peacock.
Lyra has had her share of past traumas, not only finding herself in need of a home at 5 years old, but also with physical traumas as well. Only a few months after she was adopted, she slipped a cervical disk and needed surgery to repair it. She was paralysed for almost 4 weeks due to the slipped disk injuring her spinal cord. She received acupuncture treatments and physical therapy to get her back to walking, running, and playing once more. Now, it's just a distant memory.
Lyra is a quiet, sweet, calm little girl who absolutely loves to curl up on laps and sleep during intakes. She is a comfort to many patients who have anxiety or are having a difficult day.
We also realize that not everyone is a dog person!
Lyra is perfectly happy to sunbathe outside, or snooze in her nice fluffy bed in the office for those who would prefer to not have a dog in the room.
